Hi everyone! I just got back from my market! It was just for kids and teens so I had to make a lot of tiny things .-. I almost sold out! (I forgot to take an after photo sorry) My mom made me lower my prices even though they were pretty reasonable before…
In total I made $250, and it was only for two hours! If anyone has any tips/ suggestions for me please tell me!
Also if you want a certain pattern I will comment it!

it’s all so cute, you did great! what pattern did you use for these? also, i don’t think it’s right for your mom to tell you what to make your prices be. you should be allowed to decide because it’s your business, and those prices seem unreasonably low for the work you must have put in.

Love ur setup! I think those prices ARE TOO LOW!! Crochet takes time and effort, that opossum alone should have been 15$. Tell ur mom that she should let u choose the proces. 1 because crochet is expensive and time consuming and 2 because she does not understand that u r being undercharged.

I’ll try to talk to her about it, thank you guys! She used to crochet a while ago so I don’t know why she doesn’t understand

I agree! Some people might say “thats so small, and u want me to pay 15$ for that, R U OUT OF UR MIND!!” But it matters that u should be paid fairly, even if no one buys it for 15$ and ur mom said, doesnt mean u should have minimal money. This is a problem in my opinion.

Update:
My mom said she believes my prices were totally reasonable because she is the one buying the yarn. I don’t know how to make her understand

Just say “just because ur buying the yarn, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t count in the cost of materials” or “just because ur buying the yarn, doesnt mean its free” (sorry if its offensive or coming off rude, trust me i dont mean it like that)

Ur welcome :) always wanna help with money making comebacks :p lol
I LOVE MONEY and HELPING OTHERS MAKE MORE MONEY lol
Great market and setup.
I think your prices are very low. Handmade items are rare and precious so you should definetly raise your prices next time. I sell those exact turtles for $18 ($10 for skein and it takes me about an hour, so +8)
Either way, it looks like it turned out great for only 2 hours! Nice job!

It looks great! I’m so happy you had a succesful market, and for only 2 hours! The only thing I would recomend is to maybe get tablecloths that hook on to the bottom of the table legs. It gives the whole booth a very professional look!

Love your set up!
Would your mom work for free? I bet not.
I am sorry your having to deal with this.
If you want to make money as a small business even if it’s not all the time you need your time paid plus materials. Do I believe we should charge crazy prices no but it’s only fair you make your time back as well.
