More Specific Notifications

So earlier I noticed that a designer has posted a tester call on social media and I knew one would then be posted on Ribblr and it got me thinking. Having more/more specific notifications could be helpful. For example, getting notifications for when someone you follow posts a tester call. I feel like that could be helpful especially with tests that get closed quicker. If there is already a way to do that please let mw know but I wasn’t able to find many options for notifications, just the usual email notifications and then all on or off. I also feel like some of the designer just released a new pattern notifications come in days or sometimes even later after the pattern is actually released. Basically, I think it’d be nice to have a few more specific notifications in addition to the general ones!:sparkling_heart:

I’d just like to add that I am talking about push notifications (to the device not just in the app).

I think that’d be awesome!
Especially because only some people are receiving any notifications at all.
Some people I know are receiving a lot of notifications, while others (like me) only receive them for some things despite having the same settings enabled.

I get a notification every time someone I follow makes a topic!

That’s odd. Somehow despite following a bunch of shops I only get a few notifications for anything new​:face_with_monocle:

Huh, I’ve never gotten a notification for that!
I only get occasional random notifications about lucky Sunday and the Thursday sale, some random shop notifications every once in a while, and very rarely a new pattern notification.
I have all the notification settings enabled so I have no clue why it’s like this

I also get notifications for people making posts, but I think you have to follow the person. Like following a shop gets you notifications for updates from the shop, but only the shop. Following a person gets you notifications when the person posts. So make sure you’re following the person as well as their shop. But I do think it would be nice to have more detailed settings for notifications.

I do get the notifications in the app if that’s what your talking about. I’m hoping for something like the Flash Thursday notifications.:sparkling_heart:

Right now there are a few types of notifications:

  1. Community notifications, these include:
  • Private messages received
  • Chat replies
  • New posts from topics/people you are following (including tester calls). You simply need to use the bell icon to follow spaces/topics or you can follow people to get notified.
  1. Platform notifications, these include:
  • New pattern drops from shops you follow
  • Sale on patterns/materials you have in your wishlist
  • Reminders for events (Lucky Sunday, sale, gifts etc.)
  • Reminders for tests
  • Gifts received from other Ribblrs
  1. Additional shop notifications, these include:
  • Pattern sold
  • New tester call applications
  • Reminders for your tests
  • Being selected for different events
  • New journals for your patterns

Are the new posts which include tester calls only in app or is there a way to get notifications outside the app (like the Lucky Sunday and Flash Thursday)?
