My April 2026 Book Wrap-up!!!

Hewo everyone!!!
Ik, ik, this is my third post today, but I knew I needed to post this since I’m already about four days late.
In April, I read 8 books, a little less than I hoped for, but still good!
Here are all the books I read with reviews!

  1. Unshaken :star: :star: :star: :star:
This book was nice, and I liked the way it portrayed a classic Bible story through a different lens!
  2. The Lost City of Z :star: :star: :star:
This one was rlly 3 and 1/2 stars for me, but just bc it felt a little slow at times!
  3. Where Coyotes Howl :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:
This book is definitely one of my favorite reads, unexpectedly, I might add! Amazing, and the ending was definitely unexpected and sad.
  4. A Thousand Splendid Suns :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:
This book stood out so much from so many other books I’ve read, and is one of my new favorites!
  5. Hatchet :star: :star: :star:
This was a re-read, as I read this when I was younger, and I have to say, I enjoyed it at about the same level as before.
  6. They Called Her Mrs. Doc :star: :star: :star: :star:
While I loved this book, I didn’t necessarily love the ending, it just felt too perfect and unrealistic.
  7. The Loneliest Girl In The Universe :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:
This book was amazingly researched and well-written, and the blend of genres was amazing!
  8. The Invention of Wings :star: :star: :star: :star:
Amazing book, especially with the portrayal of both feminism and slavery!
I hope to read at least nine books this month!
On my TBR for this month is:

The Elephant Keeper
100 Days of Sunlight
The Martian
Dreaming of Tuscany
Only The Wind Remembers
The Rain Watcher
Eventide
The House on The Irish Hillside
Resistance

My physical TBR consists of 50 books!
I bought 13 books this month!

I’m reading Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy! It’s kinda slow at first and a little hard to understand sometimes, but it’s silly and getting better the more I read it. I also reread The Selection and The School For Good and Evil (both of which are really good, especially the latter. My around 4th time reading it. However, imo the sequels for both books are not nearly as good)

I also read the entire Wayside school series, which is for a really young target audience but I still enjoyed it as the stories were hilarious

Hmmm… Takes out reading journal

This April, I read…

6 books!

Once Upon a Broken Heart: 3/5

Honestly was a good book, nothing wrong with it, just didn’t really find it super interesting..

Powerful: 3.75/5

Until the end, it was okay, but the end was SO SAD it broke me inside. would rate it 4 but I’m a harsh rater sooo…

The Poppy War series (all three books!): 5/5

This has to be my favorite series of all time!! The descriptions of war are so deep, and I almost-cried so many times throughout the series! All the deaths felt so personal, since there was so much world building and character development. The ending could have been better, and I feel like they should have advertised trigger warnings a littttleeee better. But otherwise, 5/5!

A Good Girls Guide to Murder: 4/5

This book lived up to the hype. I recommend this to everyone who likes mystery and twists! It’s not a five since I’m not so into mystery, not the books fault, that’s my fault.

Added to my TBR:

Project Hail Mary, The Bone Season, The Rage of Dragons, Mistborn, The Sword of Kaigen, Iron Widow, The Will of Many, The Priory of the Orange Tree, Scythe, Fourth Wing

Books bought:

The Priory of the Orange Tree, Scythe, Fourth Wing
