My first plushie + encouragement

Hey guys! Hope everyone’s having an awesome Christmas! I just want to show you my first ever plushie as an encouragement. We all started somewhere like this. Even though i am an intermediate Crocheter now, i still want to encourage beginner crocheters to keep moving on. Here is my first ever plushie:

This pattern was by @loopsandknotscrochet, she has an AWESOME YouTube channel, you should go chec it out! I also want to encourage other intermediate and advanced crocheters too! All of us started somewhere like this. We’re all in this together! Merry Christmas y’all!

Also, the mistakes i made with this were:

  • I used the “v” single crochet instead of the “x”
  • I used cotton instead of poly fill to stuff this. I didn’t know that cotton and poly fill were different.
  • I used the normal decrease instead of the invisible decrease
  • And i didn’t use safety eyes so now it looks like a coraline whale.

This was the first pattern ever from me
I did it with the wrong colors and I didn’t know how to sew :sweat_smile:

i like the buttons though it gives it personality!! (also i still do the v sc just bc i don’t like how the x looks and although ik it makes like stitches tighter… idk lol. also too lazy to change to yarn under.)

My first one was a whale, and I used purple yarn to embroider the eyes, plus I did the whole thing in blo, and only realized my mistake near the end when the tutorial said to do Flo

The Coraline whale is still pretty cute :sparkling_heart::sparkling_heart::sparkling_heart: It is always fun to look back on our older projects and see how far we have come with our crocheting :sparkling_heart::sparkling_heart::sparkling_heart:

Btw using a v stitch that isn’t a mistake… It’s a personal preference

what’s the difference between “v” and “x” single crochets? is it yarn under or something?
