My Most Abitious Project + Updates

Part 1: Starting the test

I joined Ribbler to document & share the process of my most ambitious project ever; a fully articulated wyvern.

Here’s a peek at the start of my tester piece, a foot, worked in worsted weight yarn.

Once this test has been completed, I’ll be switching to size 10 crochet thread.

(Full credit to holzcrochet for the ball and socket method I’m using. She can be found on youtube. Her doll pattern is free, and AMAZING!)

Yes, I would absolutely recommend looking at her channel! Her joint design is beyond anything I’ve seen before, and this wyvern would not be possible without being able to study her design

Thank you!

I tend to work in spurts - consistent progress for days-weeks, work on something else for a bit, then circle back and repeat cycle - but I’ll be doing my best to update on every step

Was working on my wyvern foot all evening, having so much trouble getting it to look right.

Finally accepted that my search history will be ruined, and went looking for different reference pictures. Found something better, but was brain-tired and couldn’t figure out how to do it.

It’s now 3am, I was letting my brain wander while I tried to fall asleep, and- BAM! It clicked!!!

So got out of bed and did some sketches. Not sure if they’ll make sense to anyone else, but thought I’d document them anyway
