My question for new patterns

Hello! I’m making some hello kitty/ Sanrio themed hats and I’m using different hat versions that are different for certain characters. But the characters will be, hello kitty, cinnamoroll, pompompurin and kuromi and I’m hoping my patterns aren’t too similar to some online because the hats itself will be basic hats and will start the Same as some other hats but will be different, I’m wondering if anyone is wanting to see me make patterns for them?

All sound super cute! Definitely post your patterns:+1::+1:

My fav is batz maru in case you ever have any inkling to add a batz hat to the lineup:face_holding_back_tears:

I would love to see these patterns! Even if something similar is already out there, it’s always great to have options!

Hello Kitty and Sanrio characters are protected by trademark and copyright. Best to get official permission first from the legal owner (s) before designing (free or paid doesn’t matter) patterns based on their intellectual property

It is still protected by law whether you sell your version or make it free. Not yours to offer

Is that true? I’ve seen plenty of patterns with the characters

Unless they have official permission and/ or have purchased an official license, those items are illegal. The owners can take them to court and sue them if they find out

Stealing is rampant. Everyone is selling stuff they have no legal right to sell, on eBay, Etsy, or pinning stuff on Pinterest they have no permission to share.

Just come up with your own ideas for patterns, I’m sure you have some good ones

Things like television or movie characters, anything Disney (they are famous for being very aggressive in legally going after those who infringe upon their copyright and trademark) sports logos, they are all owned and under copyright and or trademark so should be avoided. Unless you want to get cease and desist letters from attorneys

I’d love to see some different Hello Kitty hats. I’m a big fan of hers, even though I’m 58 years old. I wear brimmed hats every time I leave the house due to health issues and medication reactions. So any new ideas would be FABULOUS!!

I can’t make a direct version of her but I can definitely make some things that are inspired by her!
