This is my first project when I started crocheting. Honestly I crocheted and unraveled until I almost gave up, but thank God I finished safely.
My goal was not a flare skirt, my goal was for it to be tight but it came out like this. Later I realized where I made a mistake, I increased too much on the hips
Anyway, the skirt came out…
How about you? Did you ever get challenges like mine in your very first project?

Yours was way better than mine.ROFL
There was no way I was keeping any images of my first try. LOL But it would have been an attempt at a sweater, of course, as that is what I mostly make.
And ALL my first tries had the same thing in common. They all started off the right width, and by row 20 or so they were 50% wider Every single time. My sweater backs all looked like upside down triangles.LOL
I had that issue for quite a while until I saw on YouTube to chain on with a hook one size bigger than the one you intend to use. Then after the chaining on, switch back. As soon as I heard that, problem completely solved.
I ALWAYS do that now, except for granny squares where it’s not really necessary.
But it took a while to figure out. Trust me, your first try looks better than mine for sure.
Actually, yours looks perfect to me. That bottom design looks hard for a beginner

It looks awsome! My first project was supposed to be a tote bag, but idk what happened, I mistakenly have missed a few stitches but it looks more like a handbag
. I would call this a very successful first project! Congrats!

Wearables are not easy, I struggle and they’ve been crocheting for a long time still learning. I think it came out fantastic great job.
