Need Advice about A Big Issue

So I have a issue. :sob:

The question :exclamation_question_mark: - Would I be wrong to ask them to just send what they have done or ask for my money back?

The Problem :sob: - I had placed a custom order for a few things (safety eyes, felt eyes etc.) for my market on the 29th. I placed this order in July, they asked me when I needed it by and I said early October. Just so they have enough time and don’t have to rush. They said ok so I placed the order. When October came they couldn’t tell me a time frame for when my order would be ready.

They said I would get it before my market.

It’s Now November

NOW HERE IS THE ISSUE…

They are having a family matter thingy and are taking time off. would I be wrong to ask them to just send what they have done or ask for my money back? Because I need to finish my market prep.

Maybe first ask if they get to it asap, how soon could you receive your package, and how much they’ve prepped, then you can try to persuade them to either send it partially (what they’ve got and then the rest) or wait for the full package, if they’re quick enough.

If they can’t, you have the full right of a cash-back unless it’s specified anywhere in the terms and conditions (always good to check for such details before ordering). Usually they either give you a time limit up to when you can cancel an order…

Also I suggest you check possible alternatives (other stores, providers…) if they can’t do anything about it / would be too late. You might even get a cheaper option!

Write formally and respectfully, people are way more likely to cooperate if theyre addressed politely and respectfully (psychology…)

I’m no expert but I hope this helps
Sincerely!

I have asked how much they have gotten done but they never answered the question. I last heard from them over a week ago. They are dealing with a family loss and they stated they don’t want to be bothered on social media but never contacted me.

My inventory just got cut down by alot because I now need to order from Amazon.

That is a tough one. You gave plenty of time for the order to be completed, even before the break for family matters.

I think i would politely ask maybe for the finished items and refund for the rest? i don’t personally think it would be wrong to do so. Seeing as they didnt complete it in the alotted time before this, and now are under stress from the personal things. I wouldn’t hold it to them to complete any time soon, and it may somewhat be a relief for the both of you that way.

Ok thank you. I didn’t know how to go about this. I placed the order because they said they would have it done. But a part of me feels like they didn’t start until October

We people are lazy… Always have been, (most if not all inventions come from us being lazy)

Now how long should I wait for them to reply before I message them again

That is bad practice for sure  then the break turns it into a whole situation. Im sorry your dealing with it! I’m not sure on the reply  i’d give it maybe a week? Though i do hope it can be resolved before your market.

What sucks is I ordered from the twice with no problems and then I placed a BIG order and they went MIA

No you are no AH for that. What you also can do is ask for what they have now to send already and the rest later? I dont know how much they had to buy themself for your custom order but just asking/telling them that you know it is hard but you are also depending on these items for your shop. So just ask what can be donne

I would ask to get the items they have finished and either ask for the orher products later or ask for your money back, they might not react now due to the family matter, but this way you prevent any confusion later on (discussions like ā€œyou did not mention snything earlierā€¦ā€)

I did I haven’t gotten a reply yet. I figured I would give it a day or 2

Yeah I’m waiting to hear back. But I just bought a bunch of eyes off Amazon. And then I will have 1 week to play catch up.

Personally, I would ask for a refund. In your situation, you gave them plenty of time to fulfill your order. Unless otherwise said in the terms and conditions, you are entitled to getting your money back. Hope this helps:)

Also they sent me a message in September saying my order will ship that week then it was silence. I’m still waiting to hear back if not I talked to square and my bank. I will only be able to get part of the order back

Could you possibly embroider the eyes?

Yeah I started doing that with my $5 items. My $3 dollar items I’m labelling baby safe to save time.

So I still haven’t heard back. I spoke with my bank and I spoke with square customer service and I could dispute it but I’m going to have to do it within a day or two they said which means I had to tell her if I don’t hear back by tomorrow morning I’m going to have to dispute everything I’ll be able to get back a portion of it but not the full amount

Ohhh noo, good luck you got this girl!! :heart_hands:
