Hi! I’m trying to make a plush but I don’t know which one looks better
The left is a 5.5mm hook and yarn under
The right is 4mm hook and yarn over
If none look good could you please suggest a hook that would make less holes? Or look more neat?
I’m using Loops & Threads Brushed Rainbow

The 4mm does look better, did you try 4mm yarn under to see if it makes the holes smaller ?

4 mm is definitely better

What works best for me is using a hook roughly the same thickness as my yarn. For worsted weight I use 2.25-3mm, depending on the specific yarn. And I use YU for amigurumi. This helps me eliminate basically all holes between stitches.

I think they both need smaller hooks. I use 3.5mm and yarn over. If you yarn under then I would use 4mm.

The 4.00mm looks a lot better than the 5.5!
My personal preference is using 3.5mm with medium yarn and yarn under (yu/yu)! That is what most of my makes use! Gives you very tight stitches and minimal holes!

They both look great, i do have some advice though. I recomen sizing down to a 3.5 or a 3 mm hook, for me when i work with dk yarn i like to use a 3mm and the x sc but itdose vary for personal preference, good luck

I would use a smaller hook and do yarn under (it makes the holes smaller in my opinion) or you can use the 4mm and yarn under

Try a 3.5mm hook
When i crochet i usually down size my hook 1 to 2 sizes then the recommended size for the yarn im using unless im working with faux fur yarns.

I usually use 0.5-1mm less than the recommend size for the yarn. (And yarn over because every time i do yu i forget half way through and default to yo)
