Hello! I’ve been quietly hanging out here on Ribblr for a couple of years and enjoying this lovely supportive community and have been too shy to actually participate, but finally here I am! I create patterns for pop culture dolls, but I’ve hit a creativity dry spell lately, plus I’m realizing that my version of pop culture may be a bit um, outdated! I’ve also recently moved to the other side of the planet and feel more out of touch than ever, so I’m casting about for suggestions on who/what’s hot and recognizable these days, or would just make a fun pattern. Any input appreciated!

Thank you! And you’ve inspired me! I’m a big HP fan but wasn’t sure if the market was maybe saturated with that franchise, but really I mainly do it for me anyways so what the heck. As I said I’ve just done a big move (from the west coast of Canada to rural France), and in the final weeks in Canada before the kids and I left to join my husband in our new home, we did a rewatch of the whole series, finishing the last movie literally the night before we left. It feels right that the first thing I make here is Harry Potter!

I adore your patterns! I’d love to see some video game characters - anything from the BioShock or Fallout franchises would be amazing!
I also think Lady Gaga would be fun - so many great outfits to choose from! Also, maybe a series of the Eurovision winner each year?

I failed to mention that I suggested BioShock in specific because Netflix is making a live action version, like it did with the currently running live action Fallout.
