Hello everybody! So I’m not sure if this is just a me thing or what, but one of my least favorite things in the whole entire universe is when I’m having a peaceful time crocheting, and then all the sudden my hook starts to make a horrible noise that sounds like a evil mouse! I’ve tried so many things to make the sound stop but nothing seems to work. If you know of a certain brand of hook that doesn’t make a squeaking noise, please let me know!!!
I’ve found clover hooks don’t squeak as much!
I also hate this, but I’ve found that it happens less if using yarns other than acrylics, so if you really REALLY hate it, try switching to a cotton-nylon blend or something
I’ll have to try out that hook, does it come in all the different sizes?
Yes they do
Yeah it mostly happens when I use acrylic yarn or milk cotton, but most of my stash is acrylic so I have to use it.
Yes. It goes for sure from 5-8. I have a 5.5mm and 8mm. Each size is a different color as well.
O MY GOODNESS DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON SQEAKY HOOKS >:( I usually just wipe it off on my shirt and it goes away lol
Happens alot when using acrylic yarn but if you are free you can just rub an iceblock on the hook works everytime but maybe buy another yarn rather than acrylic or whatever yarn you are using.
Try crochet with as little tension as possible, it works for me!
