Hi guys srry for posting again. I just opened my shop YAY!!!
SHOUT OUT TO @WatashinoTsuki FOR THE AMAZING SHOP BANNER!!! if u wanna check it out follow me if u want there is nothing on it at the moment but i will put stuff on there soon. I want to start designing amigurumi patterns, so if anyone has any tips or ideas feel free to share!
Thx!! I’d love to give you some tips.
First, start with something really simple, with mostly circles (since that’s the easiest shape) like a bear, a bee, ect
Look at other people’s patterns to see how they word things!
Ummm I’ll edit this when I think of more lol
Tysm ! I’d say for some tips on making patterns like Craftycellist said, look at other peoples patterns and see how they write their pattern introductions and things like that! In the beginning it will probably take you a really long time to make patterns but you will get WAY faster over time!
And for creating patterns that people will like, I suggest doing pattern polls and things like that to people get excited about it.
And you can also look at things that people like, or animals that are trending! For example, my frog pattern that I had on ribblr for a while (the one in my pfp and on my etsy) I saw that LOTS of people loved the knit frogs but didn’t know how to knit! So I created a crochet frog win my own style, but with the clothes and stuff!
CONGRATS!! Tysm for using the banner I made
I wrote my first pattern yesterday and what I did on ribblr some sections i didn’t know how to fill it out so i looked at some patterns on here and referenced from that!
this is true!! i started pattern designing recently too! i would also suggest adding your own twist to it, like accessories, etc. bc that will make it unique :D
Ooh so exciting!!! I’d love to share some tips and I’ll edit this if I think of more!
-make sure you’re designing for YOU! Do it for your enjoyment!
-testing is SUPER important! Your testers will help to make the pattern as good as it can be!
-try to add lots of detail to the instructions. Things like photos to help with certain steps are super helpful!
-remember that your patterns don’t need to be super complicated or detailed. Especially right away!
-good pattern photos make a huge difference! Try to get good lighting and a nice background. You could even doodle on them!
Hope this is helpful! Good luck! <3
