Opinion on plush yarn

So I don’t really like using plush yarn much, I’ve tried various different brands and just didn’t really like how they felt. But, I’ve been seeing a lot of people use them lately, and I’m wondering if I should try it again. Let me know your opinion!

I’ve never cared for it myself but that doesn’t mean those people who only use that kind of yarn are wrong.

I don’t make plushies as I have no room to store them nor do I know anyone who wants one

I focus more on utilitarian items

I like it! Some textures are not it tho. I sorta save my plush yarn for the patterns I most wanna make.

I love it! I’m in Canada so we have some limited options. the Bernat baby blanket yarn is the softest (if textures an issue for you)!

My viewpoint is that you should listen to your inner self. If you’ve tried it and you don’t like using it, then why try again when you already know how you feel?

Only you know inside you what is right for you. When your experience is telling you you don’t enjoy something, then it’s likely not for you. If you don’t like that way something feels, that’s not likely to change.

It makes no difference what others like or don’t like. We’re all individuals with different tastes and likes and dislikes.

We all have different preferences when it comes to colours, foods and yarn too.

If you don’t like something there’s no point trying to get yourself to just because someone else likes it. There are probably other yarns you love that others don’t care for as much.

We’re all individuals with different tastes. You are you, there’s no point trying to be someone else. Just follow your heart and what your experience is telling you. You do you.

I love working with plush yarn! The chunkier size is nicer on my hands than the smaller yarns, and I find that the people I make plushies for find the size more impressive than the same pattern but made small (only crocheter in the family…) The softest I’ve worked with is Paintbox chenille (it sucks to sew with though), but I hated the texture of Hobbii’s Toucan - it was so rough and grippy. So there is definitely a lot of difference out there.

But never feel like you have to work with something just because it’s popular! Use what you like best and try plush yarns again only if you actually want to.

I’m okay with them, but it’s not a usual go to for me.

I think I’ll get some this winter though for a big blanket I want to make for my bed and for a thick extra warm sweater.

It gets COLD here in winter where I live! LOL

I don’t use plush yarn very often. I like the feeling and look of acrylic better.

I love plush yarn.:yarn:
