Hey crafters! I wanna see how many of you would trade your crochet patterns! I know that money can be tight for some and I think it would be something fun to do! Specifically for me I’m looking for anything ren faire related or gothic related like hats, tops, skirts or shorts but as patterns so I can make it on my own and I’ll trade you a pattern of mine until they reach the same cost as yours (if you wanna price match) or just pattern for pattern or bundle for bundle!!

It may be unethical to you but there’s people I’ve gotten patterns from and they gifted me their patterns. It may not be something YOU do but people do it and I was just asking out of curiosity. It’s MY shop and if I wanna trade a pattern and someone else wants to trade we can both reach an agreement.
I’m not asking for other people’s patterns you paid for I’m asking from artist to artist DIRECTLY and I’m not forcing anyone in doing so. I will not redistribute the pattern and people know every year on my birthday I giveaway patterns anyway I’ve worked very hard on and you can see that I have very many patterns myself and I’ve taken hours just to write one so I do respect an artists work and I’m not asking for free just to be cheap I have money I can buy a pattern myself I’m helping out OTHER accounts so if they want one of mine and I want one of theirs we can decide on a paid trade or a fair gift trade. I’m not giving away my whole pattern if that’s what you think I mean. I’m still the account creator for the pattern and it’s just being sent via gift on Ribblr. I do know people have very strong feelings about not wanting to trade their work. OKAY THEN, don’t trade your work. But other people have reached out to me via dm to trade and I’ve done a few already and anything gifted to me from their account I keep safe and only make the pattern for myself my husband or my kids. I no longer do craft shows with other people’s patterns out of respect! I can write my own patterns I just never made clothing before. It was a SUGGESTION nobody is forcing you to do anything you don’t want to! Wanna trade let’s trade! Don’t wanna trade then keep scrolling. Simple as that.
I think trading patterns is such a good idea! Although I haven’t connected my account to stripe yet I can’t make paid paterns yet, but I think this would be fun!
I agree. You didn’t have to go off like that. You didn’t really make it clear that it was paid for paid. You could’ve simply said it in a nicer way to clear up any misunderstandings.

I’m simply explaining and tone can be taken unintentionally through devices rather than in person so however if we were face to face then I would explain it calmly what my intentions were so I apologize if it came off rude but I was simply stating if you Don’t find it ethical or want to trade then keep scrolling it’s very simple to do. Everyone has a right to their own opinions but you commented on my post.

Bartering is one of the oldest things we’ve done in society. Its so nice to see community come together and meet each other’s needs without the financial burden of capitalism getting in the way
Apparently I’m rude for explaining that I want to trade patterns. I wasn’t rude I was explaining even clearer than before. The statement of me saying “keep scrolling” might seem rude but it’s not. I’m not saying it rudely I’m saying if you disagree you can scroll away and not have to see my post.. out of sight out of mind right?! Ignoring is the best thing if you see something you don’t agree with (depending on the situation) because everyone is valid to their own opinions and beliefs and it’s my post at the end of the day. So I don’t know. I just wanted to trade patterns for fun and people are making a whole thing out of it. Even Ribblr says it’s fine like wth
