Hi everyone I just wanted to ask whether it would be ok to post my patterns on Ribblr as a PDF in the file section as a lot of my patterns arenāt as compatible with Ribblr as they are as PDF files. If you guys wouldnāt like to buy a pattern like that just let me knowā
Thank you very much
While itās possible to add a PDF into a line of your pattern itās not possible to add just the PDF there needs to be several lines in the Ribblr e-pattern to be considered a pattern and be able to be published here on Ribblr if that makes sense
If you try there will be a pop up that prevents it
I myself would be disappointed to get a pattern that is a pdf. I have a lot of patterns from before ribblr, on pdf, and I never make them anymore. I think the ribblr format is amazing and would prefer that. That is why Iām here. Not on some other sites.
Itās more recommended to upload a pattern into Ribblr as well as attaching a pdf, if designers want to offer a downloadable option (as people who purchase on Ribblr expect an interactive pattern). If you did want it to be pdf only, you would still need to include a few lines (probably notes) within the pattern, and make it VERY clear in the pattern description that it is pdf only.
What is it about the patterns that donāt seem compatible with Ribblrās system?
I much prefer .pdf files as I usually print out patterns while Iām working on them. Itās due to a medical condition with my eyes that makes it painful to read off digital images.
Thatās me, anyway. Hugs, Valoriā
Thank you so much for letting me know I really appreciate it
Thank you so much for letting me know as I was wondering what format people prefer
Hi lily I completely understand this. Itās not so much a problem with Ribblr for certain patterns I tend to either use lots of pictures on the same row or other ways of explaining it. I think Ribblr is a great platform I just have a lot of pre-made pdf patterns that would probably be a bit harder to rewrite them onto Ribblr .
Hi valori thank you for giving me your feedback Iāll try to make my patterns a more compatible for printing
I often have several pictures for one line. What I do is combine them into one image, and then upload that to the relevant line e.g.
For explaining complicated things you can make a note at the start of the pattern and refer to it when necessary, or insert notes where you need to in the pattern and resume the rows after.
You also donāt have to re-write anything, itās possible to just copy and paste directly from the pdf into Ribblr.
Just a few options I thought Iād mention, there are lots of ways to make patterns that are pdfs work with Ribblrās system.
Thank you so much for this too Iāll try to find an editing app to do this with the picturesā
A big reason Ribblrs creators built Ribblr was to make it interactive and avoid wasting paper and toner with printing. So Ribblr is a lot more eco friendly that way
Youāre welcome I personally use Inkscape on my computer, because it allows me to precisely position images using coordinates on an x and y axis.
Thank you so much
Thanks. I know Iām just one person and thatās asking a lot of work for one⦠Itās just that Iāve had 13 diagnoses for the past 15 years, and all of a sudden Iām diagnosed with 2 more that are basically untreatable which are the source of the majority of all my chronic pain. After running a few recent tests, Iām in worse shape than ever. So Iām being a whiny baby about everything. I appreciate you listening to a fellow crochet enthusiast!
Hugs, Valoriā
Iām sorry to hear this I hope the best for your health in the future and I appreciate you sharing your opinion
Thatās so sad to hear about your health. Maybe if you contact designers on Ribblr theyād be able to use the āgenerate pdfā for you? I know Iād be happy to, if youāre interested in any of my patterns
