Plush yarn

Hey! ive been using a lot of plush yarn recently and i find that when i make a magic ring and tighten it most of the time the yarn breaks or the fuzz falls off and i waste a lot of yarn. Does anyone know any tricks for getting the yarn to not fall apart?. Thank you <3

Be extremely carful it’s very frustrating but if you’re careful most of the time it will close and won’t break, it’s just kinda a frustrating yarn for magic rings sadly

Do a chain 2 instead and work into the 2nd from the hook.
Or, chain 3 and connect with a ss and work into the middle.

I’ve seen this trick on YouTube, I don’t have the video anymore. But you basically just make a magic circle with worsted weight yarn, then crochet into it with your plush yarn! I’ve tried it, and it works so much. I hope this works out for you!

Chain two, work your MR into the first chain, be sure not to make too tight, plush yarn allows a lot of give ^×^

when you have made ur MR and when u r going to adjust it, tug on it VERY GENTLY, or ch 2 and do the sc’s in the 2nd ch

I also burn the ends to help keep it from slipping off. If youre having a lot of issues, and would rather change yarn, blanket yarn is a great alternative. Or velvet if you want smallrr yarn!

Thank you everyone!

I just tighter my MR really slowly, and cross my fingers that it won’t break :smiling_face_with_tear:

i use the chain 2 method where you chain 2 and in the 1st chain, you do the amt. of sc

You could try making a double magic ring:

What I do is almost close the magic ring fully before putting your stitches into it, works every time and never breaks for me
