How do yall price your crochet plushies? My dad says I under charge for stuff but I don’t know.
That’s going to to highly depend on what your items are (speaking as far as a simple loaf cat vs a complicated dragon that’s 2ft long), how clean your work is, and also your geographical location (even looking between rural and urban areas, you’re going to see drastic differences in the prices people are willing to pay). Some people may be able to post what they price their items at, but those factors will play a part.
A great way to see pricing would be to attend some local craft fairs/markets in your area to see what other people are charging and get an idea of their quality vs your own to see if you’re comparable. You can also post photos of your work here for suggestions on what others would charge but I wouldn’t post location since that’s a risk for minors. So again, it won’t really be super helpful since different areas will be more likely to have higher prices than others.
I was just wondering if you had a rate that you use, but thanks for the long reply, my plushies normally come out with nice and even stitches, but while I won’t reveal what state I live in, I live in the Midwest in America, so idk if that helps at all
I’ll be taking pictures soon if you would like to see them
I am also Midwest, more rural. I go to a local farmers market and they won’t pay. But, same location, we have a county wide sale and they do. Definitely not as high as big cities. Not really helpful, am I?
Thanks for your feedback, every tip is helpful!!
charge for the yarn cost, then figure out how much you want pay urself by hour. time urself and do the math.
for example: if u made a loaf cat with a $4 skein of yarn, used about half of it, decided to pay urself $10 an hour, and it took 2h to make it would end up around $22. now this is probably a giant loaf cat but this is just an example!
hope this helps!!
tysm!
