Hey guys! Does anyone have any suggestions on how best to post on Instagram with the intentions of selling stuff? I also want to figure out how to get my profile out to more people that I don’t know. I’ve created an entirely separate account thats JUST for crochet but I want more interaction from people other than my friends if that makes sense? If anyone has ANY tips at all that would be SOOOO helpful!

My only suggestion is hashtags, and interacting with others doing the same thing.
I forgot hashtags oh my gosh ![]()
Other than hashtags: use keywords, alternative text, trial reels, trending audio. Clean up your bio and profile so people know what you do just by looking at your username/profile pic.
Make sure all the correct settings are on. I’m not an expert on this, but I hear that you should allow best quality imports, google searches, that kind of things.
Fun fact, calls to action such as “follow me” or “like this post” automatically hinder your post’s reach. Instagram actively discourrages it. You can learn this type of things in your settings. There’s a section with tips to help you grow a community. Then, you can look at your stats to see what works for you and what doesnt.
You could apply to tester calls, it’s a good way to reach new people because designers tend to make tester appreciation posts that redirect people to your account.
Thank you so much for all the help!
Anytime! But don’t over-focus on it. Growing on instagram is sooo hard unless you literally post everyday. It can be incredibly demoralizing. Celebrate the small victories and take care of your mental health first. Instagram is not worth the burnout.
