question about stitches in patterns

im writing my first pattern rn (yay)
but it uses stitches other than the basics

so should I include how to do those stitches ?

(Idk if this should be in the “support” section cus it doesn’t directly have to do with Ribblr)

Well, is it a stitch that is already known, or did you make it up yourself? If it is known you could probably put it in the description that you need to know it.

I’m pretty sure it’s already known, but just not the most well known-
like I’ve almost never seen this stitch in a pattern?
(it’s gonna be a clothing item c:)

Yea, so it might be a good idea to link a youtube tutorial on it maybe

I would, how else would users know how to make it, you can write it down or add a video on how it’s done or both for good measure

If Ribbuild has no symbol for it you can ask Ribblr to add it

This would be a valid reason to tag this thread for Support or Suggestion

I include stitches like that in the notes section of the pattern, just before the instructions. I write the abbreviation and how to make the stitch (sometimes attaching photos depending on how complicated it is).
For example:
Invisible decrease (inv dec) = insert hook though the front loops of the next two stitches, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and pull though both loops on the hook.

Hope this helps!
