Question as a pattern creater (aka seller)

Hi guys,
Per title, hoping some of you know.

  1. Do all patterns need to be tested before releasing in here? (I’ve seen so many pattern release without journal from other people, or a testers calls.)
  2. If I gifted a pattern to someone and I later update the pattern, do they see the original or the latest? And what happened if I somehow deleted the pattern?
  3. Say I have a pattern of two characters, can I only get people to test one? And only gift the one they tested? (I mean there are modified version for 2nd character but in one pattern)

  1. Testing your patterns is completely optional. It’s recommended of course, but totally up to you!
  2. It will automatically update their version I believe. I’m not sure about deleting it though.
  3. Technically yes, you can have them test only one portion of the pattern by using the “block from here” buttons.

    I’m not sure whether that feature would transfer to the gifted pattern though

Thank you, one more question of I may. Do testers only receive karma and mark the make as tested when I gift the pattern?

Yes, you have to gift the pattern for your testers to get karma

Patterns we have remain ours even if deleted. I have some from closed down shops. Updates are immediate, so they would get the updated version. You can send people a link for testing, so it would not show up on a tester call. I recommend testing. We see stuff the way we intend it. They can catch stuff we may miss on our own. Journals are tough. I have seen people start a journal for testing and then delete the journal when done. I don’t like this at all. :frowning_face:

Patterns don’t have to be tested, most aren’t.
It think if someone has your pattern and you edit it, that it stays updated?
If there are two patterns in one then you can’t gift just one, but if they are separately made-both in a bundle- then you can gift them one instead of the bundle.
