I’m homeschooled too!

Public schools. My late father was a public school teacher as well. Homeschooling wasn’t really a “thing” back when I was going to school.

i got to an in-person school, they’re all about PRIDE. but not the LGBTQIA+ pride, we have our own specific values .

got told off for not looking my English teacher in the eye when she said good morning to me

Everyone just does their own thing. For me, it’s really laid back. As long as I get my work done, my mom does not get angry. I pretty much just do school when I feel like it. However, I have a friend who is also homeschooled, and her parents are pretty strict about it. She has to get all of her work done before she is allowed to do anything else.
I love being homeschooled. I can just work at my own pace, and not worry too much about deadlines. I am behind in some subjects, but in others I am already doing college courses (I’m 16)

Mostly bc I was managing a large hair salon full time at 19-21 years old at the time. Covid made it easier as far as online exams and such but I had already been online since fall 2019. I think I had one in person class in 2020 and it was web design so we just went remote. :joy:

I personally love it.
I have tons of free time, I get to sleep in, I get to go at my own pace, personalized learning, never have to worry about taking vacation and missing classes, I get to do school cuddled up with my dog, etc.
Plus colleges (or at least the ones in my area) are now specifically looking for homeschoolers and are willing to give scholarships to them.
I’m also going to graduate college at 19ish which is great :]
