I know this might be a very dumb question, but I’m still new here and trying to figure it all out, so please bear with me! Why do I get notified when people Im following comment on other peoples posts? I appreciate any answers yall can give me! Thanks! 
Umm, generally you shouldn’t get notified if they comment on other peoples posts but only when they post their own topics. Sorry but I can’t help!?
you can get notified when people you follow create a reply!
first, click on your profile picture in the top right
then go to the bottommost tab with the person and then click preferences
then click the side arrow once and then click notifications
and then click the checkmark that says “notify when someone i follows replies”

as stated in my reply, you can actually be notified! you just have to change some settings :)
