Hi guys,
Just wondering, does anyone else atomatically think that they’ll need a stitch marker when they find out the pattern they’re making requires starting with a magic ring? I’m asking because, literally every single time a pattern says that I need a magic ring, I go and get a stitch marker without looking at the rest of the pattern and then I end up not needing it most of the time. Is this just me, or does anyone else do this as well?

I always use a stitch marker for a new pattern!!! (Or for a medium, big one)

Oh that makes sense. I only use them when the pattern says I have to, but its a good idea to use it for everything.

It depends on whether you’re going to work in a spiral ie: with amigurumi. In this case I always use a stitch marker.

Same!! I only use a stitch marker when working in continuous rounds with amigurumi.

Most of what I do is worked in rounds and I always use my stitch marker. When I first started, I didn’t use one (cause I didn’t know they were a thing) and I would constantly lose my place and have to guess or start over. Once I discovered stitch markers, I never went back.

yep, me too! except, even when a pattern uses joined rounds, i typically don’t do it that way bc it looks cleaner, so i usually end up using a st marker lol
