Reusable Dog Potty Bags?

Hey,

Though it sounds like a gross idea, but has anybody thought of making some type of reusable Dog Potty Bag?

I was thinking that they should be made out of something like plastic grocery bags (Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Dollar Tree, etc.)

What do y’all think? Does it sound like a good idea, a gross idea, or a bad idea? Give me some suggestions/ideas along these lines. I need y’all’s feedback.

Hmmm thats an interesting idea! I think that you should use something plastic bc yarn would get kinda gross lol

That is what I was thinking as well, even though you could throw them in the wash.

Hmm an idea could be to get a shoe mat, I’ll put a picture, and put old fabric on top of it. then you can put the fabric in the wash and rinse off the mat. For the picture, you can get the bigger or smaller, but I’d say get ones that have sides like walls so it doesn’t leak out the sides. Im not sure tho if you meant potty pad or bag with your description. If you meant a bag for walking them I’m not sure. You could line a mesh bag with plastic and use that and rinse it out. And probably make the inside lining of plastic removable in some way so that can be washed separately.

Do u mean like a thingy to hold the bags?? Or like actual bags???

I think it would be better made from ziploc cause the plastic is thicker, (also its harder to get plastic grocery bags in places like canada only certain stores have them now cause the banned single use plastic)

I’m not sure about reusing a potty bag, there’s some definite germ spreading issues there. But would be good if there was an effective and easy way to ensure they’re decontaminated. I do reuse shopping bags to pick up and clean pet messes so the bags aren’t one time uses for shopping. I think a biodegradable poop bag would be good so there’s no forever plastic

It’s interesting but it just with time and use it’d get so just ew. And how would it be emptied ?

i feel like it would be nasty to wash them :sob: as far as the reusable part goes

I thought about it later and now I think that yarn would be a horrible idea.

That is a very good question. I was thinking that the waste would be put in the trash and the bag would be sanitized somehow. I have not thought that far yet.
