Ribblr of the Week - Meet Hadley! đź’ś

Say hello to Hadley @TheEnchantedCrafter - our new Ribblr of the Week and designer behind The Enchanted Hook! :confetti_ball:

Tell us a little about yourself:

Hi! My name is Hadley and I am a fellow teen crafter on Ribblr and a Broadway fanatic!

When did you start crafting and how?

I started crafting when I was little, but didn’t start fiber crafting until around 2020, when my mom taught me how to crochet! Funny enough, I almost gave up on my first project, a bandana, but my mom pushed me to finish it, and I probably wouldn’t be here now!

And how did you start designing?

I started designing in 2024 with my balloon dog because I needed a pattern to make some for a fundraiser! It came really easy to me!

Do you have a favorite craft type and if so - why?:

Crochet for sure!

What was the most memorable project you worked on?

A sweater vest that I made last year because it was the most color changes I made and I’m extremely proud of it!

What are you currently working on? Be honest - how many WIP do you have right now?

Haha! Too many to count! Currently I’m working on book-binding and the monthly challenge!

What inspires you to create/design?

Anything that stands out to me! Sometimes my family gives me ideas too!

Which of your makes/designs are you most proud of? Share a picture!

Some of my favorite makes I’ve made are a micro-crochet giraffe, and this goofy duck with a top hat I made for my best friend!

What is your usual process of designing?:

Honestly, I just get a picture in my head of what I want to crochet, and I just go for it! Usually I’ll have to frog it a few times before I get it but eventually I do!

Any favorite song, book or movie you would like to recommend?:

Oh there’s so much to choose! Well for music, it would have to be any musical! (I’m currently hooked on Maybe Happy Ending!) For a book, the “Secrets of my Hollywood Life” series by Jen Calonita. Lastly, for movie it has to be “A Fault in Our Stars.”

What is your favorite feature on Ribblr?

The community! From the testing to being able to talk to all types of different people!

What socials can folks find you on?

Just Ribblr right now!

Which 3 - 5 designers/patterns on Ribblr are your favorite?

@MadebyEllie Flower Frog pattern, @LexaLovelyCrafts, and @Mangolemmon939 spiral clown patterns!

Thanks for being here this week Hadley, it was a pleasure to read about you!

Congratulations  :tada: very professional stitches and patterns. I don’t believe you that you just started crochet last year. Did you do it growing up or at school? Or other textile work because your finishes are too good for a complete newbie no matter how much you love it.

It was clearly time well spent :purple_heart: :artist_palette: :yarn: Thanks for your honesty. I regret putting knitting needles aside/losing them/throwing them away. I had never heard of crochet at that time. My mum and grandmother used to knit. Your creations are something to aspire to thanks for sharing :grinning_cat: 2020 was a hard time but it’s great that you’ve persevered and turned out your own fabulous creations :thread:
