Does anyone know how to create a pattern in a PDF that you can sell? So when someone buys it it downloads to them?
Sorry but I don’t know :<
That’s ok :)
I also don’t know, sorry
It’s Ok I’ll try to learn for all of us lol
I know how to do it on Etsy. make a PDF first (I like to use Canva, and then download it as a PDF) and then when making an Etsy listing, click digital file, so when someone buys it, it’ll download to them
Ok! So you can use canva? Thank you so much for replying!
yup! you just need to download as a PDF
Thank you so much! I’m hopefully gonna be starting a shop to sell patterns so that is very helpful!!
Just keep in mind that on ribblr you can only sell ribblr ePatterns (they say it’s so it’s harder for people to steal your designs) but if you want people to get the ePattern and the pdf you can put a link to the pdf inside the ePattern but it’s not the most ideal! (If you do that to save time you can have ribblr generate a ribblr watermarked pdf for free!
Ok! Thank you! I’ve seen the generate PDF but never tried it
Microsoft Office allows you to make PDFs. My office uses the version that allows you to “save as” an adobe PDF. Either Word or Excel files can be saved that way.
But on Ribblr you are not selling PDFs, although the designer can provide a PDF version to their customers.
Ok thank you!
Yeah I know that but I’ve had someone online express interest in my pattern but they don’t have Ribblr so what it’s like a alternative if they don’t have this
Or Google docs.
Ooo i didn’t know you could do that on Google docs, thank you!!
That is what I use, it is very easy.
Ok! Something easy sounds amazing lol
You can generate a PDF from your Ribblr shop, you have a free or a paid-for option, so you can use Ribbuild for free to create your pattern - it’s the only pattern builder out there You don’t have to sell it just on Ribblr.
Keep in mind that with PDF your customers cannot track rows or customize their size like they can on Ribblr, and be wary of PDF piracy.
Good luck! we’re rooting for you
