Shop Followers VS Shop Orders

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I have a major problem with people following my shop, getting a pattern, then unfollowing. I don’t know if this is the right category to put this in and if it’s not someone please correct me. I think it’s wrong to follow someone just for one pattern then unfollow that person and still have the pattern. I wish there was something that kept this from happening. Just putting it out there. Edit: It’s worse than I thought. I have 224 shop followers and 310 shop orders
Thanks

I agree
I’ve had that happen so many times

It also could be that people are getting multiple of your patterns!

Only thing though is maybe your followers have gotten 1 or more of your patterns! Like I have 2361 free pattern downloads and I have 2061 followers :woman_shrugging:

True! Thanks for looking on the bright side!! I’ve had a few people get multiple of my patterns, but I haven’t had 86 people get multiple. Sorry if that sounds rude. That probably is a large part of it though

I never unfollow a shop but I have noticed sometimes my fingers hit unfollow and I must click to follow again.
I just followed you. Maybe you could put the tip button in your shop since all your patterns are free right now? That way folks can return and tip if they didn’t have $ when they first visit.
I really depend on the kindness of generously offered free patterns but I always favorite patterns while looking through shop, I look at the whole shop, not just claim a free pattern. Then, when I’m able to splurge and get a pattern or two I have them marked and go back and shop the stores that I’ve already followed.
I imagine it is not a good feeling to see people just come and take then immediately unfollow. I can’t speak to why that happens. This is my favorite crochet website and it’s important to support creators. Esp. generous ones. I’m sorry that has happened a lot for you. Your patterns are adorable.

Thanks for sharing!
It’s more likely people getting more of your patterns, historically the number of people following and unfollowing is very low (lower than 5%).

It’s honestly a loss for them if they unfollow. If I find a shop that offers a pattern I love then I follow them because I like their style! I want to see more things they make in the future!

Yes that is very true!
I usually only unfollow if i see the person posting something innapropriate later on but i think ribblr should take the pattern away if they unfollow you.

Yes! The “Ribblr it” button should change back to “followers only” and they should not be able to open the pattern until they follow

Yes thats how it works but after they claim the pattern they can then unfollow and still get to keep the pattern.
Thats what shes talking about.

Initially, yes. I’m talking about after they claim it. It doesn’t need to be removed from their library, just remove their access. If they already don’t have access to the pattern if they unfollow, then there isn’t an issue here

Yes that makes more sense.
They do have access to the pattern after they claim it tho so thats kinda the issue shes talking about.
