Simplicity is making me lose my mind

I don’t really have crafting friends so I’m putting this here. At my community college I’m taking a sewing class for fun, I’m on my second garment and I got the Simplicity 1800BB. It’s cute, has pockets, meets all the requirements for my class, and comes in plus sizes (I’m a big girl sue me).

I needed to make a test garment for alterations, and according to the pattern I’m a b cup (?) (yeah and also I’m the queen of England, God rest her soul) so I look at the included pieces.

As you can see this pattern shows that it has B cup to DD cup, cool great start. Fast forward to an hour later of unfolding, folding, tracing, folding more, unfolding, and pulling my entire family in to confirm that I’m not blind. I cannot find 1b or 2b

So I email them, say hey help, there’s missing pieces from a sealed pattern of yours. I’m expecting maybe a pdf of the missing pieces idk.

They reply with, “The 1B and 2B pattern pieces are not included in the BB size pack. Those are the smaller pieces which are in the AA pack. We hope this information is helpful.”

??? Well the pattern is wrong, it says pieces given, I have not been given. I reply, politely telling them that, offering to add a photo, and that multiple times in the pattern it mentions a b cup size that somehow doesn’t exist.

“The cup sizes are split into two separate packs.

B, C, and D cup sizes for Miss and C, D, and DD cup sizes for Plus Sizes. You may use the C cup and make the necessary adjustments in the fitting portion of the instructions.”

HEY DUDE, the pattern is wrong, you’ve made something slightly misleading, I know how to alter a cup side for this bodice, so I will do the hard work to alter this. Stop diddling with me and admit I’m right.

I wanted to say that but I didn’t, Samantha is not Simplicity, I am not mad at Samantha. I sent the picture and said I get what you’re saying but there’s a mistake. I am not crazy.

They have yet to respond

Update: “All pattern pieces will be listed on the guidesheet sheet however, in the pack will only be the pattern pieces that match the actual size that you have purchased. If you purchased the BB pack you will only have the larger bust cups. The smaller bust cups are in the AA pack.”

Gonna lose my mind

Can you show the front of the pattern sleeve/envelope?

It appears that they are showing you all the pattern parts that exist with all the size options, but only included the ones that fit this size pattern pack. Says 16 pieces included and there are more than that pictured.

It’s on campus but here

it says separate patterns for B,C,D/C,D,DD but it doesn’t say which one has BCD or CDDD and in the instructions it shows how to figure out if your cup size is a B C or D

NOOOO!! that is really wrong of them to do that!

Yup…theyve been doing that for ages unfortunately…it used to be in itty bitty fine print on one of the corners saying what was actually inside the envelope

Sorry that they made this so confusing! Guessing the back of the envelope isn’t very helpful either. Should be better descriptions.:face_with_raised_eyebrow:
