Some thoughts on pattern testing

I just wanna put out there I’m very good at communicating :purple_heart:
I’ve tested 30-40 patterns between here, instagram and Facebook. I’ve only had issues with one designer not listening to me about a part being too difficult to understand. That is also frustrating. I want to help make the pattern a great one that people will enjoy making. Not spend time scratching their brains on how to do something.

I just put a pattern up for testing. I’ve never done it before. Can you help with how I pick testers and close it out?

Thank you!

Under shop manager you will see a testing tab that shows what patterns you have for testing. Click the drop down next to the pattern and you will see people that are pending. Click on approve to any you want to approve to test. Don’t click gift pattern until they are done! Close the call by stating ā€œleaders please closeā€ with ā€œ@ā€ before leaders (didn’t want them to close this lol).

The practical part of choosing:
Go to ā€œmy shopā€ find your pattern and click the icon on the right down corner. Click ā€œassign testersā€ and approve those you want and remove the rest. When you’re done choosing, go back to your post and make a comment ā€œ@ leaders (without space) please close this topicā€.

On how to choose which testers you want: this is more of a personal choice, so I’m going to tell you some of my criteria. You can ignore them or follow them as you please. I first read people’s comments on my post. Have they followed the instructions? ( Ex if I’m asking for a comment about what type of yarn they are going to use, or if I have asked to add an emoji to make sure they read through the announcement). After that I check their makes and trying to access if they have the skills to make my pattern. If they have only make very simple patterns and mine is an intermediate one, they have less chances. If all their makes look like they are at a beginner level (weird shapes, not centered sewing ect) it’s clear to me that they don’t have the skills to test a pattern. I also check if I like their photos. If their photos don’t have good lighting and clean background they have less chances to be picked. After the first asessment, I first accept those who pass all my critiria and then, if I feel that I need more testers, I chose accordingly.
