Stitch ideas

I’ve tried a couple of stitches with my worsted weight yarn in order to make a blanket. The stitches I’ve tried ( shell stitch moss stitch ) make the blanket too stiff. I want something thAt has more drape but is not a repetitive stitch that make me want to scream out of boredom.

Any ideas?

I really like the stitch Hooked by Katie used in her dragon pillow, not sure what it is call though. (It is the stitch(s) she used for the pillow base.)

Edit:
Lmk if you would like me to send you a pic of what the stitch looks like, since I am currently working on the pillow bases/panels).

I made a scarf with worsted weight yarn in a c2c pattern. But the stitch was more open so it hung really well for me. Picture was before I weaved in the ends. Funny. Check out this link and see what you think.
