do other people’s stress levels affect their tension?? i was working on a plushie side project & the head piece turned out soooo much smaller than the body, all because my tension was just incredibly tight x_x i had a rough week so i feel like that played into it?
(btw i sewed it on anyways because i thought it was silly enough to be charming :9 hopefully lol)

Yes, tension is mediated by the level of tension in your body as well as other factors such as hook size, if the yarn is cooperating or not, how warm your hands are ( if aluminum hook),
I can’t think of other factors right now.

How tired you are. My stitches are usually tight. I’ve been so sick I’ve been having a hard time doing any work because I can’t focus with a fever and I’m so exhausted that everything is so lose if not wrong, so all I do is frog. After doing it twice and damaging a piece of the yarn (nothing special but my favorite due to color) I just had to wait. Bad days, no crocheting, but fever, no choice. With stressful week? I’d be crocheting even my dog’s fur.

Ok, this was long. First time writing this much in a while. Now I’m too tired to read anything else. Sorry. Back to bed.

Oh, definitely. For me, when I’m stressed, I crochet more lol, but my stitches are always tighter, as well as faster. I personally have a weird habit when I’m running out of yarn—I crochet faster lol, as if that’ll help me conserve yarn

Sitting upright and leaning back with feet up change tension for me.

I havent noticed a change with tension if im stressed or not. If anything my speed and errors increase
Yarn hold, different hooks, chair i sit in or simple posture usually contributes to tension differences.

omg i relate on speed & errors though
nothing worse than crocheting to relieve stress only to have to frog it because i miscounted :,D
