Hey everyone! (Sorry if this is in the wrong place)I have been really wanting to sell a few patterns in my draft rn, but I am unsure. To all the pattern creators out there, do find that your patterns sell better here on Riblr or on another place like Etsy?
Thank you for Reading and giving up your time to read!

Personally, I haven’t started selling patterns yet, but I think It would be better to sell your patterns on Ribblr then on Etsy because you can promote more on Ribblr. Also I love your patterns!
Ok.
Awwww! Thank you ![]()
Etsy is more popular overall from what I’ve seen, but I looked into them and they take SO MANY FEES it’s not even funny
I recommend here as I bought some Etsy patterns and it is hard to get it tested so they were incorrect. Ribblr is better to make sure they are right and like @Elliyaya said you can promote more on the community
I stopped selling on Etsy because of all the thieves and scammers on there. Plus people’s shops get tanked because Etsy hounds buyers for reviews and they give low ratings for the harassment. Plus people constantly demand refunds because they thought they were getting a physical item for $5
or they can’t figure out how to download the pdf.
I still have a Ravelry shop but have stopped creating pdf versions to prevent theft and because I get maybe 2 or 3 sales a year.
As for Ribblr, it took a while but I am consistently getting sales now. Not an amazing amount, but at least 1 a week
.
For any platform you will do a lot better if you are good with advertising your patterns through social media.
Toooooo many pricy fees on Etsy. I’m on Tedooo as well and so many are leaving Etsy because of the fees that take up most of their profit. Tedooo is a good community to join to sell items. It’s free to join and start your shop and you don’t need to pay for Pro to have a shop. It would be a good outlet to have Ribblr and Tedooo! One doesn’t take away from the other.
Tedooo is a good community as well. They have no fees to join, open a shop or sell. There are a sparse amount of people that sell patterns, so that could be a good source as well.
Tedooo steals people’s photos to use on their platform. They are constantly on Facebook trying to get people to share their projects and using those photos without permission. They also have been known to have people sharing paid patterns for free there.
Correction. Facebook are individuals trying to get peoples patterns under the guise of Tedooo. There are many talented people on Tedooo that don’t need other people’s patterns. There are thieves everywhere.
No correction needed. They were stealing photos and using them to advertise for their app. They also used fake accounts/bots to collect these photos and have taken over entire Facebook groups. There is a reason there aren’t many patterns for sale there.
I guess I’m pretty naive. How do you guys find this information out? I don’t have a shop on Tedooo but I do enjoy interacting with the people and seeing all the beautiful things they create, having nothing to do with crochet. I want to make things and sell it but I have so many health problems that most days I don’t even get out of bed. I’m 71. I enjoy Ribblr as well but there doesn’t seem to be a place to sell what you make, just patterns you create. I have done several test pieces for people on Ribblr and throughly enjoy those. Well enough for now ![]()
