suggestion (again heheh)

Yeah I figured this
I just would like a countdown so I know when I can start claiming free patterns again

If youre limited to a certain amount a day, then its not going to let you download more that day if it resets at midnight. Its a new day after midnight.

What is this for? Are you only allowed to receive a limited amount of likes on your posts?

Hm I disagree…it would still have a limit so it would still work–just a little differently.
BUT I understand why Ribblr does it the way they do it, and it is totally fine with me.

It would technically still work yes, useless probably wasn’t the best word.
I just mean it would not work for what Ribblr wants it to do (hence why they do it in 24 hours)

No, you can only give out a certain amount of likes every 24 hours.

Okay that really doesnt apply to what im saying, and im not trying to get my limit removed because i dont mind paying for patterns. Midnight is midnight, its 00:00 and its a great time to have the timer roll over. Its literally the end of one day and the start of the next. It would make it much easier for everyone to keep track of their download time, or even easier would be to use UTC at 00:00 to roll over the counter, instead of having everyone unsure of when theyre able to have access to a new pattern again. UTC is the most universal worldwide time, as close to that as you can get.

Hmm i never noticed that. Its never stopped me from giving likes before. Do you know why it limits how many likes that can be given in a day? I dont understand why that would be necessary.

I’m not sure what to tell you? I’m not Ribblr.
I don’t know why they make the choices they do. I linked the stuff they said as an explanation from them as to why they do it in 24 hour cycles.
As they said, you aren’t using 5 patterns a day, so it’s really not that big of a deal anyway.

The limit for members is 450, the limit for regulars is 600 per day. It’s to prevent spammers/bots I believe

Oh i meant no disrespect at all, i promise, and I apologize if it appears that way. It would still be in 24 hour cycles, midnight to midnight is still a 24 hour cycle. It would just give a predicatble timeframe instead of having to keep guessing.

As for the 450 and 600 like limit to prevent spam and bots, that makes perfect sense. Thanks for explaining.

Well that’s where the time frame issue comes in, because as they said since there’s so many people from so many different countries, it would be difficult to have it reset at midnight for every person.
The UTC thing could work, but I feel like it’d be easier and make more sense to keep it as the 24 hour system but add the countdown

Yeah im not really good with coding so youre probably right about that.

yess I was literally thinking about this like yesterday, and was thinking itd be helpful to have a countdown!

It is better this way since different people are different time zones.
