Okay guys, I was recently faced with a dilemma when looking for stitch markers on amazon that would fit larger needles like my 5.5mm-6mm with my sweater WIP and I love the charm ones but I also don’t like the clasp for ones for bigger needles I often found. All the ones I looked at were for 4.5mm and under to sit like a closed stitch marker for knitting and I wanted some but couldn’t find any (unless I wasn’t looking hard enough, please let me know), so I took out my container of beads from when I made bracelets in a crafting phase and saw I had some cute charms as well as jumper rings.
So, without further ado, I present my DIY stitch markers that I think are absolutely adorable and would love to inspire others to make things like these as well. I love charms to add just that little something to a project that seems simple looking.
For the gold rings I used an 8mm diameter, and the silver are 10mm so there’s plenty of room for my needles. I then used smaller jump rings and attached my bead of choice (that I tied some elastic beading string onto for a semi seamless look) as well as my charm of choice and pinched it all together with some pliers and voila! Love the finished product and could be a super cute market item if it’s inexpensive enough or just a cute gift for other crafters in need of a gift. Felt the need to share in my enjoyment ![]()
(there plenty of cute charms at Hobby Lobby or other craft stores or even amazon that you could get for a cheap price per charm if you went on the route to sell them)
