ooh, okay! i also haven’t done much tapestry so i’d love to test to try to better my skills. i could use white, light purple, and medium purple acrylic yarn with a 4.5 mm hook!

And they may have looked too advanced or tricky to you. Mainly because of multiple color changes and detailed images. But the truth is tapestry crochet doesn’t differ much from traditional one. I think I would do maybe purple, yellow gold, and orange or perhaps a monochromatic setup, like a light yellow to a darker yellow or perhaps earth tones. Have to see which cotton yarn I’ve got lying around to play with, but I’m pretty sure I would use a 3-4mm hook with a worsted yarn.
