tester call for crochet: 'i'm a star' top/sweater

i need testers for my ‘i’m a star’ made to measure top/sweater crochet pattern.

the due date will be 20th of july. i will be choosing the testers on 16th of june (a week from now), which will give you five weeks to work on the test. those who won’t finish due deadline without a valid reason, will be blocked from testing my patterns in the future.

the pattern has instructions for wide sleeves and cuffed sleeves, which i will also be needing a tester for, so comment which version you’d be interested in testing; only the top, wide sleeves sweater or cuffed sleeves sweater. if you won’t comment, or mention your preferred version, you simply won’t be selected.

this top was made with super fine yarn, more specifically hobbii’s daily stitch recycled cotton. i’ve calculated the specific amounts, and will require the testers to do the same (approximately).

you can use other yarn than super fine as well, especially if you’re making a sweater! and you can also make it in more or less than three colors. just mention those in the comment as well.

i will also need to know what size you’ll be making the top or sweater for (bust measurement) and what hook size you’re using (i won’t need that in the comment, only for the journal).

the pattern has a lot of images, so it’s pretty beginner friendly - i’d say advanced beginner, just to be sure.

and yes, i will need at least a few testers to check over the pdf pattern as well, as soon as it’s finished!

so! to recap what you’ll need to tell me in the comments to be considered for testing:

☆ would you be making only the top, the wide-sleeved sweater or the cuff-sleeved sweater
☆ the bust measurement you’d be making the top or sweater for (or even the clothing size, if the bust isn’t there to be measured, so that i can select a wide variety of sizes). the pattern itself is made to measure
☆ if you’re willing to commit to writing down your hook size, what yarn you used and how much you used per color, as well as the bust measurement you made the top for - this gives the people who’ll purchase the pattern an idea of how much yarn they’ll need
☆ what color(s) you’d be using
☆ a star emoji just so i’ll know you read everything
☆ and can your pictures be used in the marketing of the pattern (with credit, of course!)

I would love to test the wide sleeve sweater. If picked I would be making about a 1x/2x size and would make note of yarn and hook used. The colors I’m not 100 set on, but definitely want to use purple with black and either yellow or pink. You would also be welcome to use any of my pics for marketing. I’d have to get a small scale to not the amount of yarn used, but that would be the only thing I’m missing. :star::sparkles:

:star: I’d like to make a 2x or 3x with cuffed sleeves in the cotton like you did because it’s too hot to make a sweater. The smallest hook I have is 4mm so I will likely be using that but if I change anything I will make note of that. My bust measurement is 50in. I’m sorry if I didn’t list everything you asked for ravelry wouldn’t let me tab between it and my notes app to make sure I could write a draft with everything :sad_but_relieved_face:. You’re welcome to use my pictures w/ credit to my Bluesky. I plan to use a white and pastel rainbow variegated yarn and possibly an off white or light yellow. I don’t have a kitchen scale but would a pet scale work for calculating the amount of yarn used?

pet scale will work :) as long as you can weigh the yarn you have left and substract that from the amount you started with, you can calculate how much you’ve used!

Hey! I would like to make the top, bust is 54 or 4xl. Def willing to share which yarn and how much plus hook size. I have a color change yarn i think would look cool. I think thats what its call when you have a yarn thats multiple colors. :star: and yes use my pics how ever you want.

i’m afraid there isn’t a pic of the sleeved version (yet). and the back is also star shaped! thank you for reminding me to add more pictures to the post, i meant to do that :D

Hi! I’d love to test this pattern. I’d probs use a 3.5 or 4mm hook to make a small with the long sleeves (idk my bust rn but can measure for info dw). Am fine to keep track of how much yarn I used. Will probs make using either purple shades w/ white or black OR use dark mossy green shades w/ black. Am fine if you have a preference cuz idrk lol. Best of luck with testing!!

This top looks so cool! For some reason, I feel that with a hood it would look even better

woah, that’s a cool idea!! would love to see it done-- or maybe i’ll design an add-on later! if you want to try your hand at that, please do apply for a tester position :3

I will apply! I have designed hoods for my patterns, so I think I would be able to add one to this top (if you don’t want to write the pattern for the hood yourself)

I would make a top with a hood, I normally wear a size M and I would use 4 mm hook and cotton/bamboo yarn from my local yarn store, you can use my pictures :star:

Id love to test this with the cuff sleeves for a 2x bust for myself! The colors will totally be different color as I have a red heart yarn with black and neon colors that I’ve been dyinggggg to use. It’ll most likely be a 5mm hook

I would use rainbow yarn from red heart or crayons box :star::star: 5.5mm or 6mm hook I’m willing to make all 3 of them 3xl to 4xl
