Two episodes of DS9 is how long it took…
R3 can be changed to say “inc x 8” to not mistake it for “(inc, sc)” which i did first and then realized how silly I was.
I think you would be able to add an additional SC between each tentacle to more evenly space them so each one takes up 3 stitches instead of 2.
I also didn’t need to use the 13th row, but that’s likely just my own tension issues.

I also have them spaced the way they are so that way the octopus will have 8 legs. I did this one pattern and the octopus had 11 legs
