Super cute. Would love to be a tester. I am thinking chunky yarn with a 5 or 6 mm hook, but if you have other requirements, i would definitely follow those

I’d love to test this - I usually use cotton/acrylic dk with a 3.5mm hook for amigurumi and have a real soft spot for sea creatures!

I’ve just started and have a couple of qus - after round 7, should there be any rows of dc around to build height? Also, once the decrease rows start, shouldn’t there be a row of dc5 dec (not going straight to dc4 dec)? Thanks, Jan

Hi there, you can add a sc 5, dec right before the color change if you’d like, I however did not when I originally wrote the pattern.

There also is only one row of sc around for height during the color change, I however wanted a more oval shape rather than circular but if you’d like a more circular a row or two of sc right before the color change should create that affect

One completed whale using dk cotton & a 3.5mm hook. I’ve put a few suggestions re pattern in the associated journal - thanks again for selecting me to test.
