Sooo I gotta know what comes first for you… the yarn or the project :eyes::yarn:

Lowkey it surprises me every time because some froggies see a gorgeous skein and instantly need to make something with it. Others find the perfect pattern first and then go yarn hunting!

I feel like we all switch it up sometimes but in this season of your crafting life, what comes first for you? :yarn:

I always look through the yarn I have before looking for a pattern I can make with it! :heart:

hmmm i do bothh
i find a pattern that has my liking, then i see if i got the yarn for it and i also need to do stuff with my yarn so i look for patterns based off it

I do a little of both! I see a pattern and get an idea of what colors I would make that in, then look at my yarn hoard! Other times when I am in a store (in person or online), I see yarn colors that I love and later (if ever!) figure out what I am doing with it!

Definitely the project first. I like to know what I am making before going to look/purchase yarn, but there are a few skeins that I grabbed due to how it looks with no project in mind :joy:

Definitely a pattern first girlie!

that’s why patterns that don’t specify how much you need in the description grind my gears SO badly and I’ll typically skip it lol

I don’t keep a large stash of yarn, just whatever leftovers I have from completed (or abandoned lol) projects.

Gotta keep those dye lots the same, so I get all that I need for a project at once. If I were to just buy yarn and then find a pattern after, I just know I’d never have enough for what I ended up wanting to make :joy:

That, and if I were to buy yarn willy nilly.. I’d never use it. Because what if it would be even better for another pattern instead later on? LOL

oooh mmmm I would usually look for a pattern first..? Like I look at some yarn I want then I try thinking of why I need it then I buy it after I have a reason lol

Usually mine is the project first. Once in awhile though, I’ll find some yarn that just has to be bought and used in something adorable!
