the way i feel about this place has changed drastically. this place used to be a fun, happy space to share anything craft-related you’ve been doing, now it’s a space to talk about anything, it feels so random. it’s like this app is 50% craft related, and 50% whatever. it’s not the same.
i don’t know if anyone else feels the way i do, i miss the way it used to be, and that’s why i haven’t been around very much. i don’t enjoy it as much as i used to, the hype has fizzled out. i think this app needs a re-focus, it needs to be a place where you share crafts, and not other irrelevant things. it feels like i can’t share my crafts anymore, these random topics overtake the ones about crafts. i feel like some people arent here for the right reasons.
i’m not trying to be rude or start anything, i’m just simply sharing my opinion. this app has so much potential, and i want all of it to be used up. i feel like it’s on the wrong track right now, though, more with the people that are making it something it’s not meant to be.
thank you.
feel free to share any of your thoughts, opinions. i’d love for this to be an open and calm discussion

If you want the app to have potential, don’t box it in with only craft related stuff. It has a chat box no matter what it will be used for other things

I feel like people aren’t using it for crochet as much as well. Like it used to be easy to find some crochet patterns on here now it’s hard. Especially when asking for certain patterns or help with things. The people who did help with that have mostly left and now it’s people who don’t really do any craft stuff on here. It really does feel different ://

i get where you’re coming from, but i’ve been seeing a few people here who don’t do any crafts whatsoever. this is a place for people who love craft to share their experiences/patterns. i just think it’s focus has drifted off craft. i would like a few topics that don’t have anything to do with craft to add variety, but not 50-75%. they take over the community, and that makes less space to share craft related topics

I can see where you’re coming from, I can see some posts belong more in the Ribblr chat, which was made for non crafting discussions and/or discussions that don’t fit into any existing spaces
In case you aren’t aware you can mute any tags and spaces that way you only see more craft related posts. There’s nothing wrong with muting tags and/or spaces it doesn’t mean you hate those tags/spaces just that you don’t want to see them

yeah and i think the non crafting discussions are getting out of control. there’s a lot around now, and i think the ribblr chat should be utilized more to hold those discussions. in my opinion i think it’d be good if there were less of those, or they should just be kept in ribblr chat.
thank you for that, but i was referring to the issue of there not being many craft related posts anymore. like @littlecreatures said, there’s not many people who help you with things/disuss crochet/craft anymore, and i miss that part of ribblr. that is what ribblr was supposed to be (at least in my eyes). i wish we could bring that spark back

i really like how everyone is very calm and respectful. i like how people can share their opinions/have a voice without it turning into some argument. the more people who share, the better, the more opinions we can see <3

I agree. Ribblr is meant for crafters to share their craft, not things about their personal life. I mean, it’s nice to know how you feel and what you’re doing, but Ribblr is meant for fiber arts. It would be nice if we could turn it back to what is used to be: a place where people can share and discuss their crafts with other people in the fiber arts community

I completely agree, even though I just joined a few months ago, I thought it was just a craft app, but so many people post whatever they want, and cuss in the chat. Which is not appropriate or appreciated. Some people are on the chat 24/7 ever time I check the chat they are on it talking about school or Roblox or random stuff. #keepribblrcrafty!!! @ribblr help but at the same time, I like the chat, it’s like I can connect with people my age who don’t think crochet is for old grannies. I can have friends who still help with patterns a little. Plus there’s a big homeschool community on here.

I 100% agree with you. I loved this app when I first joined and was super involved in the community side but these past few months I haven’t been active for a multitude of reasons. It’s just changed so much and it’s not the same at all, honestly I don’t enjoy it anymore and I only use Ribblr to talk to the old friends I made when I first joined.
I also wanted to say that I’m very glad everyone is being super respectful and kind with their responses to this topic even if they’re not in agreement. <3

Another thing to add to this: someone the other day, if not longer, was posting every 5 ish minutes because they were bored. Things like that it’s like okay I get it, but why not keep it in the Ribblr chat instead of making a post? So many people have left the app because people aren’t really doing anything craft related on here. I have asked for advice on things and for specific patterns and got things like “idk” etc. not really any helpful responses. Ive considered leaving a couple times because I don’t get the advice, inspiration etc on here like I used too.

I agree. Even though once in a while in the chat its nice to talk about different thing not related to fiber arts, these random things are overtaking the app. This app kind of feels like reddit now…

I agree with you so hard guys, could we please keep it as a CRAFT app, when it was much funner over just turning it into another random app. It’s turning irrelevant atp
