First time creating my own design and I plan to start off easy by making a sphere. Does anyone have any tips on making patterns, more specifically the nose of a foo dog.

Really depends, how big do you want it to be? Sew it on? Bobble stitch? Embroider?
I find making a sketch, even a quick one, can be very helpful in visualizing shapes and planning stitches beforehand.
Before I started designing my own patterns I tried many different patterns to get a better understanding of how to make certain shapes.

I think I might end up using some sort of bobble stitch. I hate having to sew stuff on and usually like whole pieces. Thank you for the advice!

I myself have a love/hate relationship with sewing, I like it at times and then some pieces I find a pain to sew on.
