Hi! My suggestion is to make something you actually want to make. I find inspiration flows when you actually enjoy what you are doing. It could also be something you need

Think about what you like to do:
Amigurumis?
Sweaters?
Bags?

Then, personally, i think on the materials i already haveโ€ฆ What can i do with this green? Or this blue?

You can then do a poll to see what people would rather see from a set of options

Hope this helps!

What I sometimes like to do when deciding what I want to make is use a random ? Generator (ex; random animal generator, etc) and I roll until I get something I want to do or get inspiration to make something I want

As for actually making the pattern, I do my action and write it down (I do this by row, so each row I do is a new step, I believe thatโ€™s how most of not all patterns will be) and If I donโ€™t like what I did I frog it and rewrite it until Iโ€™m satisfied with the end result and If I make it again but change stuff I add a version 2 and so forth if I changed anything especially if I make the pattern with a different yarn so I need to add or remove stuff to get the exact size I want,

All in all itโ€™s whatever you find easier to do, good luck with your pattern writing journey!

I think the most basic shape to create in amigurumi is a sphere  By practicing crochet enough you should be able to easily learn how to create a sphere and other basic techniques when designing. From there you can start to adapt the sphere into other shapes etc. I think if you have enough crochet experience it should just come to you. I am not sure how to explain it
