Whenever we are gone for over 3 days we have our neighbor feed the cats. When we’re gone for 3 days or less we just leave out a lot of food (a lot of food).

Ya you just need someone to feed and give it waster and to clean its litter box

Automatic cat feeder. Trust me it does wonders. But make sure not to use it when you’re not traveling bc that would mean that your cat wouldn’t rely on you for food. Bc my mum got one when we traveled but we started using it even when we were at home but then about a year later we started feeding her ourselves and she’s so much friendlier (still a scaredy cat but a friendly scaredy cat)

If the cat you get is pretty independent then if you can get one of those food and water dispenser s that dispense at a certain time I would recommend that when you are gone and cameras in their favorite spots so you can check on them

Since my dad works all week and doesnt get breaks very often i always take at least one 8 day vacation!
What we usually do with our cats is:
1: WE leave enough food and water out (you can get refillable food and water dispensers which can hold at least 8 days food for this especially if ure only getting one cat)
2: We usually lock our cats up in the garage where the cant get into anything inside (like plants, fish tanks, etc.)
3: We usually leave at least 2-3 litter boxes out (We have two cats and the litter boxes will each last 2-3 days)
4: We always end up either coming home halfway through the trip to check on them or hire someone we know to come in every other day and feed/water/clean up after them.
