Hi there! I’ve been crocheting for a long time now, and I have recently entered a more confident creative era of my life, so i want to start making my own patterns. I am not sure where to start. Are there any beginner resources for those who are wanting to start creating? Thanks!

I don’t know any resources ( although theres probably loads on YouTube) but start with something simple that you already know how to make. Notice the shaping for flat area, areas that flair out, and by how much (increases) and areas that flair in (decreases). Then try to make a ball or something like that and write down your stitches in a notebook.

I don’t know of any, sorry
This is how I started designing:
- First I crochet it
- Then I write down what I think I did (I can look at the stitches and be able to tell)
- Then I make it again following what I wrote down exactly
- Then I post a tester call
- And then I post the pattern
Sorry if that wasn’t helpful at all

Here’s what I do
- While I make what I wanna make I right down my pattern.
- If one of my rounds/rows looks funny I go back and see if I can figure out what happened.
- After I figure out any problems I had I restart the entire pattern and if it looks like what I wanted then I am finished.
- Then you can post it on Ribblr or not
