I thrifted some beautiful mohair yarn and am wondering what to do with it now. Most of them are light grey, so they can go any way with some accent colors.
When taking any pattern the risk with mohair is that it looks kind of messy in my opinion, as the fuzzy yarn blurres the stitches, making everything look less defined.
On the other hand it doesn’t make use of the strength of mohair yarn, which (next to feeling wonderfully soft) I think to be the different gradients in opaqueness achievable.
Do you know any good patterns or inspo pics for mohair yarn?

I don’t know about wearables, but the fuzzy Mohair could make some cute fuzzy animal amigurami/plushies

I saw a cute beanie made with mohair the other day (can’t figure out where tho

In general, I would suggest an easy pattern, simple and repetitive stitches and all that. For me, the beauty of mohair is that it creates a very consistent fabric-like piece, you almost can’t even tell it was crocheted, and that is kinda magic imo. If that’s not your vibe, I’ve also seen some pretty lacy sweaters and shawls out of mohair.
If you have ravelry, I’d suggest doing a filtered search there for inspo! You can filter by fiber content. Here’s a quick filter I made for ya: Ravelry

This is the only type of mohair project I have on my mind because it’s the thinnest yarn and I don’t have any patience/time/speed

you could double strand the mohair with soft acrylic for an ethereal-looking project! beanies, sweaters, scarves, would all look adorable <3

I did try your suggestion and aerial or etherial is really the best way to describe the resulting fabric
