When I hear pride, I hear many things.
One of the things that it means to me is feeling prideful to yourself’s accomplishments(not braggingly) being actually proud at the things you have accomplished. Not boastfully, confidently. Welcome the joy you feel when you do something great.
to me, pride means community. it means being able to be yourself without fear of judgement, and being able to rely on others to lift you up when you’re feeling down. to everyone out there, whether you are a part of the lgbtqia+ community, support it, or even if you don’t support it, just know that there are people who love you <3

pride to me means being proud of who you are, whether your sexuality or identity is different from those around you. pride month is a way for those part of the LGBTQ+ community to be proud of who they are and celebrate this, when in the past people part of the community have been oppressed.
As part of the LGBTQA+ community, pride to me means being proud of who you are and what you have accomplished, despite the setbacks you might have faced (whether through discrimination or other things). To me, it means recognizing your own self-worth for who you are as a person, and being able to express your true self and be comfortable with who you are, even when times get hard.
To me, PRIDE means courage. To be able to express yourself unapologetically in a society full of discrimination and hatred, and to set an example for those who may not be ready to express themselves.
