What to crochet during a trip

So, I am going on another trip and this time it’s going to be a 5-hour train ride (just one way!). Do you have any suggestions on what I can make during it? I have a problem deciding, because:

  • I have limited space for yarn because I need to pack for 4 days just using my backpack
  • I already have a lot of sweaters and blankets so starting another one on a whim wouldn’t be smart
  • recently I started to wear even more masc clothes (I’m nonbinary) and even though I love cute crochet tops I know I won’t wear them

Please tell me you have some ideas, I will go yarn shopping in a couple of hours, but I don’t even know what to buy

If you could find some it would be great! Two summers ago I made the hexagon shirt that was popular and I really liked it

What about a bag? Like, it can be based of a game/character/show you like?

Plushies that fit the theme of your trip so that there’s something you can hold the memories of. You could attach a pouch to put pictures in it or keepsakes from that trip. There’s a bunch of animals with pouches irl that you can do too!

Hm, I was thinking about one that would be inspired by Victor from Arcane, but I need to think about specific design more, thanks for reminding me about it

That’s a really cute idea! I’m currently making a little pouch shaped like a cat for my meds. If I have yarn left I think I will make another one for my bf

I don’t make clothes or bags, and if i remember correctly you don’t make plushies. So I don’t really have any ideas (and it’s literally 6 in the morning) but I’m glad I helped you remember that!

I make plushies, but I rarely design patterns for them. Working on a bigger project, that doesn’t involve so much counting is a lot easier for me when I am on the road. A bag would be perfect for it (for example I made my eye bag when I was in Corfu last summer), but I don’t want to speedrun this design

Very understandable :3

Non-amigurumi stuff, because you don’t need to bring stuffing and safety eyes lol
I really like making fingerless gloves
Scarf?
Bags like tote bags or purses
book covers
Hope this helps!
