Hi, I’m fairly new to crochet but there’s a pattern that just doesn’t make sense. It’s got a section as follows:
(1dc, 1inc) X6 [18]
1dc, 1inc, (2dc, 1inc) X5, 1dc [24]
And that 2nd line just doesn’t add up. Is it me? Have I not understood it right? I don’t know how to move on after this bit

What exactly doesn’t add up in your opinion? Could you please specify it?
Regarding the numbers it does seem right.
it is just breaking up 2dc, inc
so make one dc, one inc, and then repeat 2dc, inc 5 times, and then make a dc
I misread that at first and missed the first inc, it looks like it adds up to me
