What to do

So, I just got diagnosed with Viral Conjunctivitis. Its not permanent, but its contagious. So, idk if i should crochet of no, bc i have to make a candy corn halloween costume for a baby, and since it is contagious, i dont want to get her sick. So, should i crochet with a contagious Viral Conjuncivitis?
O also, its spread my touch.

If its contagious you probably shouldn’t make anything for other people

No I wouldn’t crochet/make/craft anything if what you have is contagious, especially for a baby who has a weaker immune system or anyone really, make sure you’re taking the necessary precautions to ensure it doesn’t spread! Also something to note even if your symptoms are gone it still remains in you and is still contagious even after for a bit (I believe searching specifically about what you have and how long it stays even after would be good) I hope you get better soon

Id say no. I wouldnt crochet anything as you are sick. I would search up how long what you have last, or ask your doctor just to be sure! As sometimes web browsers give false information. Plus, It is still really early before Halloween! So I would get better first, just advise the babies parents that you are sick right now and once you get better you can continue on to the costume!

If you “have to” still crochet now. I would wear gloves, mask and maybe even spray the yarn with fabric disinfectant every now & then. Just to keep down on germs and being that you are contagious. Its just another option, I know its a lot to do that you wouldnt do normally but a precaution if you still have to

As a parent myself, I’d say please wait until you get the all clear from your doctor.

Well, I always wash things I make, especially if it’s going to a baby. This includes stuffies!

Please wait until you are cleared up. Before you make anything for anyone

The virus that causes viral conjunctivitis can survive on surfaces for up to two weeks, so I wouldn’t work on the baby costume, but you should be fine to work on Christmas items!

I hope you recover quickly!

Please take care of yourself first and communicate your situation with the parents, they’d understand your limitations especially when it’s a contagious disease. Remember that you can’t work well when you’re sick, and the product might bring illness to a baby (which have weaker immune system compared to adults), so be especially careful :two_hearts:
