Noooo dont be scared! I’ve tried to make my own pattern and what can I say… Almost every pattern I try to make LOOKS LIKE A STRAWBERRY TvT
So I thought: why not make a pattern for it?
And that’s what I did!
For my second pattern I watched some crochet videos as inspiration and tried to recreate one of ‘em (with my own details!, and credits ofc. Tester call’s still out!)
So maybe I gave ya some inspiration on how to make your first own pattern!
I started in May-ish two years ago (technically still 1 1/2) trying to make a blanket for my baby sister but I accidentally only learned slip stitch instead of single crochet so it kept turning into a bowl made up of a bunch of knots. I then decided to make a teddy (bunny) that looked like a dog apparently, and they named Bunny because they thought it was a dog and yeah. It wasn’t great but I was genuinely so proud of that thing. And I just kept making plushies, and now I’m here, with a little fledgling small business!
I started designing in 2020 (COVID layoffs, Yayy), and I started crocheting about 15 years prior to that.
Only last year have I felt that I have really stepped into my own as a designer. I’m finally proud of what I’m making and feel that my patterns can accurately reflect the vision in my head!
Wait I know this one!!! The American Crochet Association has a pattern writing and design course. I really wanted to take it this year but then I got pregnant and bills started to pile up haha. If you end up taking it, can you let me know how you like it??
